Mark Newton joins silicon oscillator company eoSemi as VP Operations

Congleton, UK, September 7, 2011: eoSemi, the all-silicon oscillator company, announces the appointment of Mark Newton as VP Operations. Newton was previously VP Operations at Trident Microsystems and before that held senior management positions at NXP Semiconductors and Philips Semiconductors. He has also run his own consulting business specialising in semiconductor industry operations.

Commenting on his latest role, Newton said, “eoSemi is an exciting business that demonstrates, once again, the innovation and creativity in UK electronics. Replacing quartz crystals with an all-silicon alternative has been the goal of designers for many years. eoSemi has a proven concept and I look forward to helping the company bring its products to market later this year.”

eoSemi CEO and co-founder, Ian Macbeth, adds, “We are delighted to welcome Mark to the company as VP Operations. He brings a wealth of experience for both global volume semiconductor manufacturing and business operations. His skills will be invaluable as we prepare to launch our first products and scale the business."

Newton holds a BSc in Electronics and a Diploma in Management Studies (DMS).
